January 30, 2007

Remembering one ex-student’s mum’s personal advice — Take more dragonfruit (also known as Pitaya, scientific name Hylocereus undatus), especially after barbeque. Picture of the fruit is taken from Go there to see its flower and colour of the flesh.

A Joyful Flow

January 24, 2007

I am passing on a friend’s vibrations to wish you all a blessed day 🙂

[From DailyOM]

The Joyful Flow
Good Vibrations
Feelings vibrate, just as all things in the universe do, at a particular frequency. Negative feelings like anger, guilt, and depression vibrate at low frequencies, while positive feelings like joy, appreciation, and passion vibrate at high frequencies. These high frequency vibrations make us feel good. This is why people and places that inspire and cultivate positive feelings have what we call good vibrations. (more…)

Reflections on Life

January 18, 2007

Life messages by Jean-Yves Doral

Our life cannot always be full of happiness but it can always be full of love!
He who is blind to the view of our souls, will not enjoy and see life as it is.
The more you plan, the less likely you will experience chance, therefore live life to the fullest.

A true friend is one who holds your hand and thus touches your heart.

Three-word Phrases

January 12, 2007

Have a pleasant weekend with this lovely sharing from a volunteer friend.

The Biggest Little WordsThere are many things that we can do to perk up and strengthen our interpersonal relationships. Yet the most effective involves the saying of just three words.

I’ll be there.

If you have ever had to call a friend in the middle of the night, to take a sick child to hospital, or when your car has broken down some miles from home, you will know how good it feels to hear the phrase “I’ll be there.” Being there for another person is the greatest gift we can give. When we are truly present for other people, important things happen to them and us. We are renewed in love and friendship. We are restored emotionally and spiritually. Being there is at the very core of civility. (more…)

Two Choices

January 10, 2007

Sharing from a friend — a dose of positive stuff to start the new year. Attended a prison counsellor workshop on Choice Theory. The article below was read by a volunteer trainer. The participants and I were touched by the lovely message though many of us have read a few times as it has been circulated via internet in the past few years. It was written by Francie Baltazar-Schwartz.

You have two choices…

Jerry is the manager of a restaurant. He is always in a good mood. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would always reply, “If I were any better, I would be twins!” (more…)
