One Flaw in Women

May 29, 2007

Women have strengths that amaze men.

They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy.

They smile when they want to scream.

They sing when they want to cry.

They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.

They fight for what they believe in.

They stand up to injustice.

They don’t take “no” for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.

They go without so their family can have.

They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.

They love unconditionally.

They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.

They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding.

Their hearts break when a friend dies.

They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.

They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.

They’ll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.

The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.

They bring joy, hope and love.

They have the compassion and ideas.

They give moral support to their family and friends.

Women have vital things to say and everything to give.

Visits to schools and orphanges in Nepal

May 21, 2007

I returned home safely from Nepal in early May 2007. Stationery, shoes , toys and food were bought for two primary schools and two homes.

The remaining fund has been used for the education for a nursing home for the HIV/AIDS affected children, and also the needy children of an orphanage. In the mean time, there are 11 children in a primary school and three boys of an orphanage have been sponsored for their completion of secondary school education.

Your kind donation and support have brought a ray of hope for these poor and deprived children. On their behalf, A Heartiest Thank You.

I am grateful to have your wonderful moral and/or monetary support which a fruitful and pleasant learning journey had happened for me.

If you wish to know more about the sponsorship for the children education, please let me know.

Nepalese Singing Bowls

May 15, 2007

I received this article with pleasant surprise during the scouting of singing bowls in Boudhanath (the biggest stupa in Nepal). Bought one for my dad, and glad to note that it seems to be a ‘toy of calmness’ for him.

Antique Singing Bowls – Gift of the Week

Singing bowls continue to play a role in the meditative, transformative, healing, and cleansing rituals performed by people of diverse cultures and faiths. Playing the bowl is easy and requires no practice or expertise. A wooden mallet functions as an intermediary between you and our singing bowl, granting you the power to call forth its song at a touch. The bowl will release a harmonic tone when struck with the mallet and will start to sing in a double octave when you circle the mallet along the outside of the bowl’s edge.

These singing bowls are made with seven types of metal: gold, silver, iron, tin, copper, brass, and bronze. Each bowl has been hand-tooled and is approximately 50 years old. Used by healing practitioners to stimulate the body and mind and to draw healing energy in, the song of each bowl inspires whole-being wellness. The variations in pitch that define individual singing bowls enable healers to target and align specific chakras to produce a variety of physical, emotional, and spiritual changes. Yet there is no one right or wrong way to use a singing bowl and you need not be a healer to use one. The bowl’s song is used throughout the Himalayas to focus and relax the mind during meditation. Striking the bowl with the mallet will produce a sustained gonglike sound that can mark the beginning and end of a meditative period. The harmonies expressed by the bowls can also harmonize the energy of your spaces, allowing you to cleanse and energize your home or office.

The size of your singing bowl will determine the nature of its song – the larger bowl produces a deep vibration while the smaller bowl
resonates more sweetly. As each bowl is unique, you may discover that yours produces a sound unlike any you have heard before, even if you are familiar with this meaningful instrument. Playing your bowl frequently will help you attune yourself to the quality of its resonance so that you can fully enjoy the amazing properties of the universal reverberation it emanates.

Glasswing Butterflies

May 14, 2007

The Glasswing Butterfly lives in South America. A butterfly with transparent wings is rare and beautiful. As delicate as finely blown glass, the presence of this rare tropical gem is used by rain forest ecologists as an indication of high habitat quality and its demise alerts them of ecological change. Rivaling the refined beauty of a stained glass window, the translucent wings of the Glasswing butterfly shimmer in the sunlight like polished panes of turquoise, orange, green, and red.

Keep Walking

May 14, 2007

The Organs of your body have their sensory touches at the bottom of your foot, if you massage these points you will find relief from aches
and pains as you can see the organs are on right and left foot, the heart is on the left foot. (Please do not do it if you are not sure.)

This is covered in great details in Acupressure studies or textbooks.

We need to walk so that we will always be pressing these pressure points and thus keeping these organs activated at all times. So, keep walking and enjoy it.
